Meet Dr Gallaher
Tom Gallaher MD, FAC, is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and the owner and medical director of GunRunner Medical Spa. With his expertise and passion for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, he is integral to the high quality care offered at GunRunner Medical Spa. We welcome patients from Florence, Killen, Huntsville and the nearby areas of Alabama.
Education
Dr. Tom Gallaher was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Later, he attended the University of Tennessee, where he graduated from the College of Medicine in Memphis in 1990. Then, he completed his general surgery internship and residency in Dallas, Texas, through the Baylor University Medical Center. Then, his plastic surgery residency took place at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Experience
In 1997, Dr. Gallaher served as the Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with North Texas Affiliated Medical Group in Fort Worth. Five years later, Dr. Gallaher returned to his home state, establishing his practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since opening his own practice, Dr. Gallaher has dedicated his time and expertise to reconstructive breast surgery and cosmetic surgery. This includes cosmetic procedures for the face, breast and body. Today, Dr. Gallaher is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an esteemed member of the following societies:

- American Society of Plastic Surgeons
- American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Personal Life
Dr. Gallaher is married to Caren E. Gallaher, MD, FACS. Dr. Caren Gallaher is a breast specialty surgeon. They share three children: a son Peyton, and daughters Aidyn and Eliza. Beyond spending time with his family, Dr. Gallaher enjoys hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
“Bitten” by Plastic Surgery
Some people are lucky enough to get a glimpse into their future professions as children. For Dr. Gallaher, a traumatic childhood experience illuminated his future as a plastic surgeon. As a child, he was bitten in the face by a family dog, which required the expertise of a plastic surgeon in order to minimize visible scarring. Dr. Gallaher knew his future immediately, and was set on a path to become a plastic and reconstructive surgeon.
